Note: sending prints to a Bambu Lab printer requires the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client, a small bridge app that runs on a Raspberry Pi, mini PC, or other always-on device on your network. Bambu Lab doesn't allow third-party software to run on the printer itself, so a bridge is the only way to connect a Bambu printer to SimplyPrint - there is no direct browser-to-printer or account-link path.

Desktop BambuStudio doesn't run on ChromeOS, iPadOS, Android or iOS - but our cloud version of BambuStudio does. Every Bambu Lab profile (X1-Carbon, X1E, P1S, P1P, A1, A1 mini, H2 series), every filament preset and every AMS-aware multi-color setting is available in any modern web browser, on any device.

  • Chromebooks (schools & classrooms): classroom Chromebooks can't install desktop BambuStudio, but they can run our cloud BambuStudio in Chrome. Perfect for school 3D printing labs running Bambu A1 mini or P1S fleets.
  • iPads & Android tablets: design on the couch, slice and send to your Bambu printer without ever touching a desktop. The full BambuStudio UI is touch-friendly and adapts to smaller screens.
  • Phones (iPhone & Android): Bambu Handy lets you monitor prints from your phone, but it can't slice. Cloud BambuStudio can - re-slice and re-send from anywhere.
  • Low-spec laptops & older Macs: slicing happens on our servers, not your machine. A 5-year-old laptop can slice a complex AMS multi-color print in seconds.
  • Linux users: Bambu doesn't ship a native Linux build of BambuStudio - cloud BambuStudio runs in Firefox, Chrome or any browser on any Linux distribution, no AppImage required.

It's the real, unmodified BambuStudio engine. We use the official open-source BambuStudio via its command-line interface, which means you get exactly the same slicing results as the desktop version. The only difference is that it runs on our cloud servers instead of your local computer.
The main difference that you'll experience is the interface: we have made our own web-based slicer interface for not just BambuStudio, but also PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, ElegooSlicer & CrealityPrint.
Yes - a small bridge app, but not on the printer. The slicer itself (BambuStudio Online) runs in your browser with no install. But to actually send prints to a Bambu Lab printer, SimplyPrint needs the SimplyPrint Bambu Lab Client running on a Raspberry Pi, mini PC, or any always-on Mac/Windows machine on your network.

This is the only way to connect a Bambu Lab printer to SimplyPrint. There is no direct browser-to-printer connection, no Bambu-account-link integration, and no install on the printer itself. Bambu Lab doesn't allow third-party software to run on the printer, so a bridge device is required, and this has always been the case.

The bridge requirement applies to both Cloud mode and LAN-only mode - the mode only changes how the bridge talks to the printer. On current Bambu firmware, LAN-only mode with Developer Mode enabled is also required for full control (start prints, set temperatures, send moves); Cloud mode on current firmware is read-only in SimplyPrint.

The slicer and the printer connection are separate: you can use BambuStudio Online without ever adding a printer (slice and download / send files yourself), and you can connect a printer (with the bridge) without using our slicer.
You can use any printer with the BambuStudio engine via SimplyPrint - while it's made for Bambu Lab printers, it comes with plenty other default profiles for various other brands. But, if BambuStudio isn't a fit for one of your printers, simply switch to PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, ElegooSlicer & CrealityPrint with a single click!
Yes! You can import your existing BambuStudio profiles (printer, filament, and print settings) into SimplyPrint. Simply export your profiles from desktop BambuStudio and import them into the cloud version. Find instructions in the web panel.

Absolutely! Chromebooks are perfect for our cloud-based BambuStudio. Since all the heavy processing happens on our servers, your Chromebook just needs a web browser. No installation restrictions, no compatibility issues - just open Chrome (or any browser) and start slicing with official BambuStudio.
